Interlink Modular Delivers Challenging Project to Onekawa School

In the mission to provide quality educational spaces, Interlink took on a significant challenge at Onekawa School.

The project centered around the delivery of two double teaching spaces. One of these spaces served as an RTLB (Resource Teachers of Learning and Behavior) building, providing essential resources for teaching and learning. The other was a double classroom building designed to accommodate students and support their educational journey.

The Challenge: Ground Conditions

One of the most formidable challenges in this project was the nature of the ground. Onekawa School was built over an old tip site, which added complexity to the construction process. The legacy of this location meant that the ground contained contaminants, including asbestos.

Addressing these challenges was not just about constructing new buildings but also about ensuring the safe removal of hazardous materials and contaminants from the site. This required careful planning and adherence to strict safety protocols to protect the health and well-being of all involved.

Project Duration

The timeline for this project was notably extended, with an installation contract spanning approximately 12 months. This duration reflected the care and precision required to address the unique challenges posed by the ground conditions and the removal of hazardous materials.

A Complex and Rewarding Project

Interlink's successful delivery of modular classrooms to Onekawa School showcases our commitment to providing innovative and customised solutions. The project's complexity, including the ground conditions and the removal of hazardous materials, presented formidable obstacles. Yet, with a dedicated and skilled team, Interlink overcame these challenges, ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone involved.
